Norfolk has long been a destination for the holiday destination of choice for over a hundred years for many for people from all over Britain. This beautiful part of the country has much more to offer then may other parts of the country. The area is home to a massive coastline and miles upon miles of water ways that can be explored in various ways. Norfolk holidays tend to attract a really wide range of people because of the sheer number of things that you can get up to in the area.
Of the vast number of people that holiday in Norfolk, many of them choose to spend time on the water. There are an unbelievable number of boats for hire to anyone from stag and hen parties through to boats that can accommodate more than one family. There are a number of different types of breaks you can choose from though with short weekends through to a number of weeks away on the water.
The good thing about going for a longer break on the waterways is that you will get the opportunity to explore a huge area and meet lots of different people. There are some places that are only accessible by the waterways and they can be excellent family days out. One of the best examples of this type of attraction is Bewilderwood which is accessible by water but instead of the road which instantly makes you feel as though you are on an adventure.
Although the waterways are not to be missed when taking a holiday in Norfolk, there is much more to see on solid ground as there are fantastic walks designed to give you some of the best scenery in the whole of the British Isles. You don't even have to walk to get the most out of it because there are lots of places around to hire a bicycle or even to go horse riding.
In the North of the County you have the coast and some of the best walks in the country. The best thing about the area is that because of the flatness of the land, walking is not something that will wear you out. You can get around on foot during the day and still have energy left to do something interesting in the evening.
If walking, horse riding or biking is not something that appeals for you then there are a lot more activities and places to visit in any part of Norfolk. Norfolk holidays are because of the heritage of the area; a very well established feature of the County. In all probability you would find it harder to find anywhere in the UK that is better equipped for a short or long break.
